Wonder’s Run offers a full service boarding facility for 22
horses. All pine shavings are used and banked slightly in the back of the
stalls. Stalls are cleaned twice a day, buckets are scrubbed once a week. The
barn has 2 wash pits with hot and cold water, crossties, tack room, heated
office, vending machine and outlets for fans in the summer. Horses are fed
twice a day and horses with special needs are fed three times daily. Orchard
grass (small amounts of fescue at times) hay is used. Legends 10% pellets, no
corn sweet feed, and Nutrina Senior are the typical groceries. Each horse’s
feed is prepared separately and their personal supplements are added as needed.
The pasture fencing
is electric, wide tape with wood posts.
Horses are out in the pasture as much as possible. In the summer they are in
during the day and out at night; vice versa in the winter, however we do turn out if the
weather is not too cold. During the fall months horses are out day and night if
the weather is nice, and come in to eat, be ridden etc. Blanketing is no extra
charge. Horses are turned out in small groups, typically two to four horses with at most six. Horses are put into groups where
they get along the
best.
Standard board $400 per month. Additional charge for
grooming, riding, bathing, etc.
